🪐AVATAR, BIOGRAPHY, STATISTICS, AND HIGHLIGHTS

  1. AVATAR AND HIGHLIGHTS

I learned from my research (included in Social Media Analysis) that almost all artists have their faces on their avatars for a higher chance of recognition from social media users.

I started to try out a couple of different photos of production and photoshoots that are close-ups of Tina’s face. I chose this one below at the end, not only because Tina’s expression here is quite natural and “candid,” but also because of how the sunlight creates the perfect amount of contrast.

Initially, I was going to add highlights (curated, permanent collections of Stories that appear as tappable circles on your profile below the bio) to Lyn’s page. However, after some thinking and further observation of real artists’ sites, I concluded that leaving this blank gave a more minimalistic look, keeping the profile more focused on the grid of artworks rather than extra icons.

  1. BIOGRAPHY AND NUMBERS

Following the trend of marketing in all spaces, I added the name of Lyn’s album “POETRY,” next to the “out now!” signifying the release of the artist’s music and how it is already available at major music platforms. Below this, I put in a Linktree URL, a choice motivated by my Billie Eilish social media analysis among other singers, encoding how this is very common as it leads viewers to other sites, usually those of merchandise and goods.

Regarding the statistics (number of posts, followers, and following), although I planned on having much lower amounts for these categories in my previous sketch, I ultimately decided against having my artist be too niche, since realistically, the brand image that I am building should cater to more. Therefore, I went upon that of Olivia Dean’s (whom I am actually a huge fan of:).

🌸INSPIRATIONS AND THE MAKING OF INSTAGRAM POSTS

  1. MAGAZINE COVERS: VOGUE, S - OFFICIAL, ELLE, ETC.

I began cultivating the perfect social site by making magazine covers. I already had some experience making this type of content from AS Level, so starting with this eased me into the process better.

For the first design, I was inspired by artists’ magazine covers that feature them in outdoor settings:

An opportunity presented itself when our school announced a two-week summer tour to the United States—specifically Boston, Washington D.C., and New York City. Tina and I made sure to take full advantage of the scenery during our visit. Here are some results:
